The Directory of Poetry Publishers is a must for poets, librarians and critics. It features some 21 pieces of information on each of the more than 1,800 book and magazine publishers of poetry worldwide -- including university presses and e-zines. Because of this breadth of coverage it has been called "simply indispensable!" by Choice and "invaluable" by Booklist.

Designed as a more in-depth poetry supplement to The International Directory of Little Magazines & Small Presses, data on entries in The Directory of Poetry Publishers includes editorial biases, percentage of submissions published, contest information and reporting time. Some publishers hate rhyming verse while others take only bawdy limericks, considering haiku a waste of space.

The Directory of Poetry Publishers tells you which is which. Most entries also contain Web and e-mail addresses. The Directory also includes the annual "Sweepstakes", listing the seven to ten statistically most-published poets. Maya Angelou isn't listed on the top ten but Virgil Suarez is.
